Omega Family--Now Available!

A few weeks ago I previewed a short Steve and I were working on with Tom Scioli, called, "The Omega Family." The comic is now officialy ready be dowloaded from Double Feature Comics! You can get it in one of two ways. One, you can buy the PDF from the Double Feature website. Or, go snag the Double Feature app (totally free) and download the issue that way. I give a much higher preference to the app route. Don't get me wrong, the PDF is cool and all, but the Double Feature app has so many awesome features. There's commentary from Steve, Tom, and I as well as a look at Tom's inks and pencils.

Either way, go grab The Omega Family in some form--it's only .99 cents, which is a bargain for Tom's artwork alone.

Here's a look at the cover, penciled and inked by Tom and painted by Steve. It's a synergy of all the weird and amazing things I love.

Ongoing and Going

It is official: Hoax Hunters is an ongoing series with Image Comics! The success of issue #0 sealed the deal, and Steve and I are still very appreciative of all the support everyone--retailers, fans, and critics--have shown the book.

The #1 issue releases July 5 and marks the beginning of our first arc, titled "Die Off Another Day." It features art from our new artist, Axel Medellin, and a cover from Tim Seeley (which I'll preview soon). Please look for it in Previews in the next week or so.

Here's an ad we made, giving a taste of what critics and other comic professionals have said about the book so far:

Reincar(Nate) Cover

Here's a look at Keith's amazing painted cover. In our talks about the cover, we discussed capturing the look/feel of 80s noir, like Miami Vice or Manhunter (the way Drive captured a similar feel just recently). I think the final product is spectacular.

And remember, if you like the book, please pre-order it on Kickstarter! We need the help, and reaching our Kickstarter goal is the only way a print edition is going to happen. We've just added a new incentive, which is a painted commission from Keith. Only four commissions are available!

Extended Reincar(Nate) Preview

Well, our Reincar(Nate) Kickstarter drive is in full swing, and we've made great progress so far. Thanks to everyone for your help and support! I've put together a 13-page preview of the book, which I think works to really capture the tone of what we're doing, and give a good glimpse of the story.

You can read and download it right here. Here's a look at a page you'll see inside:

Reincar(Nate) Kickstarter

It is now live and running! This is a project I'm really excited about--I have been for a long time, in fact. Keith Burns and I have been working our tails off not only to make the book absolutely perfect, but to find time to make it happen. We have both been pushed and pulled in different directions, both professionally and personally, so being so close to the actual release is really thrilling.

And, a note about Keith: You know those fantastic artists you look at and say: "I knew him when..."?

Keith is that artist.

I know Keith is going to break out very soon; he's too talented not to. His immense talent shines through on every Reincar(Nate) page, every unique layout, every rich panel. Believe me, Reincar(Nate) is worth Keith's art alone.

If I do say so, it also have a pretty cool story. It's a classic noir tale with a few twists--one, that concept of the main character, Nate McCoy, being able to interact with the people he once was. But also in tone. I aimed to give the book some humor and lightness, like Terriers (I miss you, Terriers!) or Chew. I don't think I've ever gone through as many drafts of a script as I did with Reincar(Nate). Granted, I've had the luxury of a lot of time, but I also wanted to make each line of dialogue just right and that took some time.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is this is a book both Keith and I are proud of, and we hope that shows. The drive will run until May 4, so if you want a hard cover copy of the book--and some great incentives--make your pledges now!

And, hey, speaking of Keith's amazing art, here's a look at a sweet page of just his inks, from issue # 2:

Enjoy!
