Meet Your New Favorite Artist

His name is Keith Burns.

This is a page from our forthcoming mini-series with Viper Comics, Reincar(Nate). Suffice to say, Keith is tearing up this book (in a good way). He's completed all of issue one, and it is absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see the book in its entirety, and to have it released.

Speaking of which, Reincar(Nate) will be released digitally in early 2012 and, hopefully, collected in a trade in time for SDCC.

Also, for the record, that's Chris Beckett on colors; the great Jim Campbell is handling lettering duties.

Quarantined Contest!

The winner will win a copy of the book, an original zombie sketch from Monty, and a print from Quarantined cover artist Keith Burns. Entry for the contest is simple. All you have to do is buy at least three digital issues of Quarantined on Comixology (free preview not included) and send a copy of your proof of purchase (withholding any sensitive information) to mmoreci at hotmail.com. Each issue is a low .99 cents--unlike some publishers that charge the same for digital as they do print, Quarantined is priced to sell.

Cons, and The World's Worst Sketches

I'll be making the rounds at a couple Midwest cons this month, signing, well, anything you want me to sign. On hand, though, I'll have copies of Quarantined as well as the few remaining copies of Reincar(Nate) and the SDCC exclusive Hoax Hunters collection (which isn't all that exclusive anymore, technically).

Next weekend, I'll be at Bouchercon in St. Louis. The good folks over at Crimespree Magazine are having me sign for a block of time on Saturday afternoon, from 2:00 to 2:30. I'll be around all weekend, always a tweet away if you miss me on Saturday. Assuming, you know, you're looking for me in the first place.

The following weekend I'll be camped out in artist alley at Detroit Fanfare. I had a blast at last year's event, and I expect this year to be even better. Dennis knows how to throw a con. I'll be signing here as well, in addition to sketching "the world's worst sketches." No joke. For $5, you can humiliate my art skills and get an embarrassingly bad piece of art in the process. Take, for example, this Hoax Hunters mock cover, seen above, I illustrated (and inked!) all by myself. Something like that can be all yours. Think about it.
