Way back when (February) I posted a preview of a forthcoming short of mine, 'Underworld.' It wasn't lettered yet, but now it is. Again, the art is by the excellent Keith Burns, who is currently doing pencils and inks for Garth Ennis's Herogasm (and a fill in for The Boys) as well as the art for The Police Channel and the covers for my OGN with Insomnia, Quarantine.
As for 'Underworld', it's a short I wrote out of an idea for a longer work that is still kicking around in my head. Now, the first page seems to indicate that the story is another in the ever-increasing line of hard-boiled noir; it's a bit different than that (well, at least in my opinion). Still, one of my main ambitions was to have fun with writing the script--a lot of my work has been political of late, and I wanted to do something that was focused completely on comics (visuals, storytelling, etc.).
The entire 5-page comic will be available in Something Wicked in the fall. For those interested, the magazine can purchased through the good folks at FutureQuake.
